RYAN IN VETERAN MOTOCROSS HUNT
Hunt ready for VMX des Nations after strong World Vets outing
Former multiple South African champion and motocross international Ryan Hunt enjoyed a strong outing in the World Vets Motocross in England over the weekend, as he prepares for his Veteran Motocross des Nations there this coming weekend. Hunt was delighted to end up tied on points in third in the World Vets MX2 class, in spite of racing his nimble Tork Craft GasGas 150 against 250 cc opposition.
“I had a very good outing on my little Tork Craft GasGas at World Vets event at Farleigh Castle,” Ryan confirmed. “This brilliant brand new event was a chance to see some old faces, race against new ones and a great opportunity to prepare for the VMX des Nations this coming weekend. I was happy with my run in the four heats, with a couple of fourths, a fifth and a sixth to end up tied on points for third for the day.” Ryan now steps on to a classic Tork Craft Yamaha YZ 250 for the coming weekend.
“The VMX des Nations at Fairleigh Castle is a somewhat different challenge and a pretty cool outing in its own right. I will be riding a classic Tork Craft Yamaha YZ250 in the VMXdN, which is identical to the machine I raced in the original Motocross des Nations at the same Foxhill thirty years ago, back in 1993! That’s a special story all on its own, so you can understand why we are really looking forward to the weekend!”
Motocross Grand Prix veteran Ryan earned his South African Springbok and Protea National Colours in a glittering career that included winning twelve SA National titles. International successes include the British Supercross title and winning the Weston Super Mare Beach Race. Ryan more recently switched to Veteran Motocross. His 2023 season is highlighted by this two week International Vets tour culminating in the weekend’s Foxhill VMX des Nations.
