Hello, I'm Emma Olivier, one of our Brand Managers at Vermont Sales, where I oversee the D-Tech, Multi-Sharp, and Olfa brands. With a solid foundation in the construction industry and extensive experience in the hardware and tooling sector since 2019, I bring a unique perspective and a deep passion for brand management to my role.

My journey at Vermont Sales began in February 2023, and I have since dedicated myself to nurturing and expanding these brands.

My diverse background, coupled with a commitment to my work, has allowed me to successfully manage and elevate various brands throughout my career. Outside of work, I'm an avid horse rider and an enthusiast of all things outdoors, which fuels my creativity and drive in the professional arena.

Costa Stavrakis
Brand Manager for Festool.

They say life is a love story, and mine began in the sandpit of my nursery school, where my passion for power tools and the construction and woodworking industry took root. My dad, a carpenter by trade, started working in construction in 1980 after moving to South Africa from Greece.

Growing up, I have many fond memories of accompanying my dad to his job sites, transforming the construction sites into my own real-life playground. I realized how much I loved the industry and decided to study Quantity Surveying after high school to follow in my dad's footsteps. However, at the last minute, I had a change of heart and pursued a degree in Marketing & Business Management instead.

Many years later staying true to my deep-rooted passion, I landed my first job at a renowned power tool brand.

Today and for the past 6 years, I am at Vermont Sales chasing my FESTOOL dreams once again combining my love for woodworking and construction with my marketing and sales expertise.

Stephan Pretorius
Brand Manager for Alpen.

I have been in the power tool industry for 18 years now. I've always had a passion for tools and gadgets and tinkering with electronics. After finishing my B-Comm degree, I got my first job as an internal sales consultant with a large power tool company specialising in the Mining Sector.

After five years and venturing into product management, I decided to broaden my horizons and learn about other tools in the trade.

I started with Vermont sales in 2012 and focused on industrial sales with specialised brands within our stable. After six years I felt the need to apply myself in a more specialised direction and became the first brand manager at Vermont Sales for Alpen.

Fun Fact: If I was not in power tool sales I would have become a motoring journalist. In my spare time I am an enthusiastic mountain biker, golfer, surfer and hunter.

Sonja Stander
Brand Manager for Energizer.

I stepped into the Hardware Industry 28 years ago, and since the first day knew that this was my happy place. I would not want to be in any other industry. With an eye for detail and strong analytical skills I try make a difference in stores daily. I believe that the best place to be is in front of a Dealer. Our relationship is more of a partnership, where we combine our ideas to find the best stand and point of sale solution for that specific business.

Energizer as a Brand has so much to offer, from speciality batteries, lights, headlights and rechargeable solutions. I enjoy the different sub categories, and am constantly upskilling my knowledge. When I left school, I wanted to become a teacher, and in essence that is the part of my responsibilities that I enjoy the most. Training our fantastic sales team, and sales consultants in store is incredibly rewarding.

Knowledge is Power that turns into Sales. I'm an Energizer fan, and it is a privilege to sell the World's Longest Lasting Batteries.

Hi there, I'm Shawn Van Zyl, the brand manager for all air related products at Vermont Sales. I've had the honour of working with this incredible Company for 19 years, bringing enthusiasm and a fun attitude to all I do. Having worked in the industry for almost 25 years, I've developed my abilities in market analysis, strategic planning, and competitors' behaviour to make sure our products stand out.

During my tenure, I have spearheaded our team's development of cutting-edge products, instore display solutions to improve sales and space occupied. In order to guarantee that we constantly provide excellence, my position includes managing the brand's image from product development to marketing activities and sourcing of new products.

My dedication lies in going above and beyond what our industry demand while ensuring that our air related products not only fulfil but also exceed the highest criteria set by our customers.
